HONG KONG

I had two nights in Hong Kong on my way home. It was just madness, certainly a big change from Europe but I loved it!

  • I went up the Peak, an incredible city viewpoint.
  • City markets were insane – one for almost everything you can think of. My favourite was the flower market. I wasn’t impressed by the goldfish market – bagged up in 34 degree heat didn’t seem like something the SPCA would be happy with…
  • Went to the Sik Sik Yuen Wong Tai Sin Temple, a huge shrine with many small temples and gardens
  • Took the worlds highest (and utterly terrifying) cable car across to Lantau Island to see the monastery and the Tian Tan Budhha, 34 metres high and made of bronze
