It was raining when we arrived in Hiroshima so we went straight to the Peace Memorial Museum. The museum was really well done, although it was interesting reading history from the Japanese perspective – a bit different at times to the US one we’re used to.

The surrounding Peace Park was beautiful, an immaculate garden that housed the eternal flame, children’s peace monument and had a stunning view over the river of the A Bomb Dome.

We really liked Hiroshima – quirky laneways, shops & trendy Izakaya bars everywhere.
