SALZBURG

I took a two hour train from Vienna to Salzburg, and spent two nights there. Famous for being Mozart’s birthplace and the filming location for the Sound of Music, it was full of tourists! I spent the first day wandering the old town on the riverbank, visited the fortress atop the hill and of course went to the museum housed in Mozart’s home.

On the second day I took a bus tour to the lakes district, Salzkammergut. where we stopped off at a few lakes and then took a boat across Lake Wolfgang to a small village on the other side. Beautiful!

  1. Oh very pretty. Thank goodness you will not have the company of Lilykins. Phew that was a close one and would have been a disaster anyway I reckon. Your choice now eh ! Walking now cos can see that it’s going to be horrid, but no wind yet. πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•
